Reconciliation

​This workshop begins with an entertaining presentation to demonstrate the emptiness that sin creates and how the sacrament of Reconciliation helps us experience the satisfying love of God. Parents are then actively involved in breakout sessions:

• They participate in an activity that shows why it’s necessary to confess to a priest.
• They play a board game with their children that clarifies the difference between a sin and a mistake.
• They view a short video that reviews how to go to Confession.
• They assist their child in practicing to receive the sacrament.

For parents who have not received this sacrament for several years, this workshop becomes a review for them as well. 

Eucharist

This workshop begins with an interactive presentation that shows on a child’s level why Jesus died, and how magnificent it is to receive him in the Eucharist. It also shows how Jesus continues to give us his love in each of the seven sacraments.  Parents help their child continue to learn through a series of breakout sessions:

• They complete an activity together that shows the order of the Mass and the importance of each part.
• They learn how practicing the virtues can become an offering of ourselves back
  ​to God.
• They assist their child in completing a visual expression of what the Mass means to them.
• They help their child practice receiving the sacrament.
